If one wants to organise international championships, the temptation may be great to consider and choose Europe as the ideal continent: many nations, stable countries, short distances, almost no customs and almost one currency. I suspect that several CIAM regulations we take for granted base just on the availability of these conditions.
However, a good solution in the European sense does not automatically mean a good thing for people from America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In my opinion CIAM ought to reassess rules or habits which mainly base on European conditions, as soon as they have been detected. The Aeromodelling Commission of the FAI is assigned to spread our wonderful sport all over the world, taking into account all its diversity, promoting exchange, fairness and tolerance. Its Bureau has to reflect this aim. |
